David Beliën set out for a quest to Hawaii to attempt to Blow a Lava Bubble instead of glass. To do so he had to get beyond the normal viewing area. Nice detail is that afterwords Pele trembled and shook… we had to get out of there…… VERY quick. Luckily nothing happened.

You cannot imagine how dangerous. The lava under my feet was very warm and made my feet feel like in a sauna. After I finished the whole area shook and sank half a foot. My guide said O Ho and started running. I didn’t ask nothing…….. i just followed. It has been the most spiritual experience I ever had.
I love it. Although with no glory hole hot enough he could not keep the lava hot enough to really blow like glass, still he tried something a lot of glass blowers have thought about doing. And it was incredible … also dangerous!
