Congresswoman Hirono Calls for National Renewable Energy and Efficiency Standard

Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono rallied energy leaders at the Asia-Pacific Clean Energy Summit in Honolulu.

She wants more accountability from politicians in Washington who are holding back our clean energy future and support a national energy policy modeled on the clean energy successes of the U.S. military by instituting a national renewable energy and efficiency standard.

Congresswoman Hirono delivered her keynote speech on August 15, the last day of the summit

  1. I have a feeling this “summit” is more a vacation for the members than a serious meeting of minds. We heard a lot of words from Mazie but no real suggestions for a fix! It’s been proven that WE have the resources to sustain ourselves but the Left will not let us develop them. The super expensive “clean energy” ideas that the Left is promoting is likely to bankrupt us as a Nation. Mazie and Dan offer NO way to pay for this experiment in ‘green’ that the Obama Administration is trying to push us towards! We have already seen the failure of several companies that the Obama gang funded, costing the taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars! We need to develop our OWN resources be they ‘green’ or not. Throwing money away on failed projects only adds to our debt and ultimate failure! Demand we develop what we have!
