Police Investigating Robbery of 63-Year-Old Hilo Man

Big Island police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred early Thursday morning (November 8) in Hilo.

At about 12:30 am, a 63-year-old Hilo man reported that he was walking along Puʻuʻeo Street in Hilo when he was confronted by a lone male who pushed him to the ground and stole his wallet. The suspect fled the area on foot toward Downtown Hilo.

The victim was not injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as Polynesian, about 5-foot-2, about 180 pounds with a stocky build. He was possibly wearing a light colored “hoodie” over his head.

Detectives are continuing the investigation, which is classified as a second-degree robbery.
