Just a Reminder During this Political Season… Island Candidates!

I will not be accepting any advertisements for any political candidates on my blog this year, those that know… it was the same for me in the last election.

I will be accepting announcements from candidates regarding their campaigns.

I hope that folks understand that any political announcement that may be made on my blog is simply being passed on by me and does not mean I endorse that candidate.

I think it benefits us all for candidates to push their message.  If any candidate begins to try and use my blog as a “soap box”… it will be quickly squandered.

I do welcome political announcements, messages and letters of support.  I won’t allow any blatant advertisements.

With that said, I will do my best to try and not even open my mouth as to whom I’m gonna vote to this year.

I may be referring to this post a lot…

So once again… I’m not accepting ads… Please folks don’t think any messages that I receive from candidates stand as an endorsement of that candidate.

How cool is this, when I went Ziplining at the Umauma Falls Zipline Experience, I had a great chance to meet with a great group of writers from all over the place.

It was good fun spending a few days with these guys on the Big Island Media Tour sponsored by the Big Island Visitors Bureau.

John Fischer is the Hawaii Travel Writer for About.com and he’s been blogging about things in Hawaii since 1997.

Little did I know that John would actually show a picture of me in one of their posts that gets read around the world in his recent post The Umauma Falls Zipline Experience Photo Gallery.  The Picture of me is actually on page 2 and you need to click it to make it larger.

Just a reminder folks… the Umauma Falls Zipline Experience are not the same ziplines that are at the World Botanical Gardens.  They are completely different although located fairly close to the World Botanical Gardens.

3.2 Earthquake Shakes Kilauea Summit this Morning

A minor earthquake occurred at 7:34:49 AM (HST) on Friday, January 15, 2010 .
The magnitude 3.2 event occurred 3 km (2 miles) WSW of Kilauea Summit.
The hypocentral depth is 15 km ( 9 miles).
